Marion County Health Fair will be repeated Saturday at the high school gymnasium. Free health screenings will be offered to anyone 18 or older.

Marion city commissioners continue to study the possibility of establishing an industrial park. Representatives of the industrial development committee of Marion Chamber of Commerce, presented information on the subject Monday afternoon.

Sharon Renee Hamm of Tampa and Julie Lynn Plenert of Marion are this year’s winners of St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary scholarships in professional health care fields.

Mike Bina, a senior at Marion High School, set a school record April 22 at Berean Academy, Elbing, when he won the 1,600-meter run in 4:35.8, shaving two seconds off the old record set by Stan Williams.

JoAnn Knak received the state’s highest award for service to ambulance organizations Saturday at the Kansas Emergency Medical Technicians convention in Garden City.

Marion High School’s chapter of Future Farmers of America again won a regional sweepstakes award. Pictured with trophies and plaques are Michelle Thole, Mike Meisinger, Brent Hayen, Lynette Lalouette, and Mark Meisinger. The chapter has won the district sweepstakes eight years in a row, according to Mark Worchester, chapter adviser.
