Sunflower Building Inc. of Manhattan was low bidder May 1 on a Marion County Courthouse improvement project. Total bid of $280,300 will include an elevator, general accessibility improvements, a new electrical system, and construction and renovation in the courtroom.

A variety of classic cars, from fully restored to works in progress, were on display Saturday in Central Park during the annual Marion Lions Club car show.

A 1929 caboose is the latest addition to the Florence Historical Society’s holding. It will be in place this summer at the Harvey House Museum in Florence. The caboose was purchased from John Younkman of Newton, a former resident of Florence.
