Marion High School has announced 2008 homecoming king and queen candidates: Camille Christensen, Lucy Collett, Luke Gordon, Elliot Hett, Mitchell Leppke, and Amanda Richmond
A blood drive Sept. 8 netted 60 donors, missing the goal of 70. Pins were given to Denice Bina, one gallon; Elaine Ewert, two gallons; and Janet Bryant, 13 gallons.
Marion High School’s volleyball team captured the 2008 Centre tournament Saturday at Centre High School. Team members are Ralene Allen, Chassidy Carlson, Tiffany Christensen, Kathy Goering, Whitney Gordon, Kayley Heerey, Emily Hett, Lindsay Hett, Emmali Kelsey, Kristen Steinborn, Annie Whitaker, and Julia Zeiner.
Homemade aprons took center stage Wednesday noon at Marion Senior Center. Thelma Blosser led a program featuring aprons being worn by Shirley Bowers, Virginia Bowers, Ellen Darrow, Pauline Edmunds, Sylvia Helmer, Carol Hett, Evelyn Jewett, Leonard Klassen, Jeannie Maki, Luella Popp, and Nora Richter.
Marion Elementary School third graders received dictionaries Sept. 5 as part of an annual event sponsored by Elks Lodge 427 of Wichita. Students pictured receiving dictionaries are Jarret McLinden and Zane Slater.
