As will be seen by a dissolution notice elsewhere in this paper, Niederhauser & Shelmadine have dissolved partnership. They have built up a good business in the boot and shoe line, which Mr. Niederhauser will continue at the old stand. We don’t know what clever Ed Shelmadine intends to do but we hope he will not leave Marion. Can’t spare him or his good wife.

We saw P.T. Burkert, John Olsen and S.E. Richardson last Saturday having a private circus, trying to train a cow to come to the shambles and be killed for beef, but the cow had the best of it for a time and gave them a free ride down hill. Sitting on the ground was no use as the anchor would not hold and the dirt flew for a minute and was fun for those in the pit. But it was of no use to resist long, for when Burkert sits down to do a thing he will succeed, you can bet high on that. (Gale correspondent)

Tom Mason has gone to Naxahatchi (what a name), Texas, to run an electric light plant. If the town is as big as the name, and is all lighted, Tom has a big job.

W.L. & G.G. Newby fling their card to the breeze this week. They propose to make it warm for their customers.
