Twenty-five years in the penitentiary. That was the sentence pronounced Monday afternoon by Judge King upon Charles R. Lower and Louis Myers, the young men who committed the terrible act here recently that resulted in the death of Elmer Healea.

Fred Ehrlich of near Canada has bought the old Rink Livery barn that Mr. Forney has been fitting up for a garage and will open it for work in about a month. His son, Joe Ehrlich, will be machinist. He has taken a course in the Kansas City automobile school.

The school board is wrestling with the question of adequate room for the primary departments. Every available space is taken in both buildings. The board has under consideration the possibility of renting room somewhere or building somewhere in the town next year.

“Sylvia,” the high school operetta, was a real success and was listened to by a packed house. The performers showed the effect of the careful and efficient training given by Miss Hall as director. It is gratifying to hear so many amateur voices do such a high grade of singing with so much ease.
