Yoders celebrate 55 years years ago

Ronnie and Patti Gaines joined other friends at Coneburg Inn Thursday to celebrate Fred and Colleen Yoder's 55 wedding anniversary.

Al, Bonnie, and Shelby Plummer went to El Dorado Friday evening for a cook-out at the home of Ben and Jean Plummer. The occasion was the Hobrecht family reunion held every three years. Others attending were Al's sister June and Ron Ford of Haysville, cousins from California, New York, and Washington, and Jeremy and Hayley Bidwell, Austin, Draven, and Aliden of El Dorado. The little boys spent Friday night with their grandparents and aunt, the Plummers. They had brunch Saturday and in the evening supper at Red Coach Inn in El Dorado. Austin spent Saturday and Sunday night at the Plummers.

Ronnie and Patti Gaines visited Esther Highfill at Shiloh Manor Sunday afternoon.

Larry and Dee Morgan and Steven attended the Burns alumni reunion Sunday. Steven was one of the scholarship recipients. Larry and Dee went to Inman later to attend a 60th wedding anniversary celebration.

First Mennonite Church held their senior fellowship Wednesday evening at the Burns Community Building. Attending were the Rev. and Mrs. Reimer, Ted and Lois Roth, Dave and Esther Stucky, Dan and Alice Stucky, Howard and Darlene Goering, Phyllis Mitchell, Gene Obee, Kathleen Brenzikofer, Mary Langenegger, and Joyce Kyle.

Wanda Davis and friend Joel of Emporia called on Joyce Kyle Saturday afternoon.

A hamburger fry at the El Dorado Lake was enjoyed Thursday evening by Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie, Dalen, and Carolee, Roland and Kim Koehn, Deby, Doug, Kaylee, and Diane, and Nathan and Ella Koehn. They celebrated the birthdays of Carolee and Diane.

Marlin and Janet Nickel and family of Texarkana, Texas, were visiting relatives in Kansas this weekend.

Galen and Verna Becker's daughter and her husband Thayne and Jan Schafer of Copeland were guests this weekend.

Memorial Day guests of Marvin and Sherol Nightengale were Jim and Linda Hess, Ally and Amelia of Kearney, Mo., and Brad and Diane Nightengale, Roger, Laura, and Casey of El Dorado.

Many military men and women and loved ones were remembered this weekend.
