Dennis Stovall, who was taken to Axtell hospital at Newton last week is recovering nicely. He is suffering from poison and it will take a few days to straighten him out.
Guy Jones, better known as "Dick" Jones, won the Brown-Crummer handicap challenge trophy last Synday at Wichita, when the trophy was challenged by 10 shooters of Kansas. Guy's score of 93 out of a possible 100 targets was the second highest score ever registered in winning this coveted trophy. The scores were: Guy Jones, Florence, 93; S.H. Denney, Wichita, 91; W.C. Loomis, Wichita, 90; J.P. Cammack, Lyons, 89; C.H. Eccarius, Mulvane, 89; H. Bortz, Claflin, 85; R.E. Wade, Wellington, 79; Frank Savage, Florence, 85; Shamus O'Brien, Florence, 83. The Brown-Crummer Trophy will again be shot for on Feb. 27 at Wichita and on March 13 at the Florence Gun Club traps.
