The final touches have been placed on the new filling station of the Marland Refining Company at the corner of Fifth and Main streets, and the company announces its formal opening of this fine new structure for Saturday of this week. The station was lighted up for the first time Tuesday night and a flood of electric lights greeted the folks who passed by. The building is of fine red brick and a concrete floor covers practically all the corner of the lots. This beautiful improvement replaces the old Florence Hotel which was razed when the company purchased the site from the heirs of the late Mrs. Sarah Freeborn.

After a very interesting talk by G. T. Klein of KSAC, which took place in Florence recently, we presume that most of those who heard him will be more interested than ever in raising chickens this spring. Chickens have proven a mighty valuable product on most farms and with the continued high prices of eggs and poultry, it seems that the old hen will develop into a real asset on the farm.
