Letters to Santa —

Dear Santa Claus: Christmas will soon be here. Here are some of the things I want for Christmas. Please bring me a by low doll, a comb that will go around your neck, a telephone, a paper parasol and candy and nuts. I hope you and Mrs. Santa Claus will come and visit me. How are your reindeers? I will have to close. It is time to go to lunch. Yours truly, Roma Spence.

Dear Santa Claus: Will you bring me a pair of cowboy boots and a BB gun and skates and a bicycle and hiking pants and some gloves and some tennis shoes and a book and a rifle.

Dear Santa Claus how are your reindeer getting along and I want a ball and bat. Yours truly, Charles Edward Kearns.

Friday afternoon, Mrs. Sarah Savage phoned to town that there was a fire in one of the farm buildings on her home place about a mile west of town on the 8th street road. Frank, Fred, and Stanley Savage. and Sam Noll jumped into a car at the Savage garage and rushed to the farm, but by the time they arrived, Alvin Bartell, who was passing and saw the smoke, had extinguished the blaze, which had started from a kerosene heating plant in a building which was used to heat feed for the hogs. The little building was nearly wreck, but it was lucky the fire was put out immediately for had it spread to the adjoining granary and barn a big loss might have resulted.
