The Wichita Orients, said to be one of the fastest city ball clubs of Wichita, went down in defeat by the score of 10 to 6 last Sunday afternoon on the Florence field. After two were out in the last half of the ninth, the Orients staged a rally which netted three runs, making the total 10 to 6.
The new Kansas cigarette license and stamp law went into effect on June 1, and a good many dealers over the county had already taken out licenses with the county clerk to handle the tags. Those who have secured licenses include: Horner Hotel and Cafe, Mayflower Confectionery, McDaniel Pool Hall, Roy L. Cox, Corner Drug Store, O'Brien Brothers, Earl Linn, C. A. Bibler.
