YESTERYEARS: 50 years ago

The Steak House at Cedar Point burned to the ground early Tuesday morning from fire of undetermined origin. The owners of the cafe, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Thompson, had retired and were awakened by the fire. They managed to escape unharmed with both of their children, but the building and contents burned completely.
This week at the Mayflower Theatre, "Quo Vadis," "The Wild North," "Ma and Pa Kettle at the Fair," "Little Egypt," "The Hawk of Wild River," "Pride of St. Louis," "Treasure of Lost Island," "Viva Zapata," "Aaron Slick From Punkin Creek," and "Flesh and Fury."
