High school commencement exercises will be held Friday night for 12 seniors who will be graduated from Florence High School. Following are the graduates: James Kenneth Brandt, Robert Allison McMillen, Vernon Ronald White, William Dean Seibel, Warren Orie Nightengale, Margie Louise Regier, Estelle Ondrias, Harold Dean Triggs, John Frederick Malek, Frederick Arthur Bichet II, William Patrick Robinson, and Ronald Dean Ludwig. Class members of the National Honor Society are Bob McMillen, elected last year, and Bill Robinson, who was elected this year. Marion Finke was named from the Junior class this year.

This week the Gra-Y Club journeyed to Camp Wood at Elmdale for the West Central Conference of Gra-Y Clubs. The greatest activity for Florence was the Gra-Y Olympic track meet. Benny Barrett had won the ping pong championship and Charles Dannenfelser the ball throw for accuracy. David Moore and Dean Robinson also placed and this gave Florence just enough points to tie with one of the Topeka clubs and a Joplin, Mo., club so it was decided by the athletic director to use riflery as a play-off event. It was then that Everett Cress came through with some amazing shots and with it the Olympic Gra-Y pennant which the Florence club has the privilege of keeping for one year.
