Marion County gained a total of 12 people according to the population abstract sent this week to the State Department of Agriculture by Assessor Max Hayen. Twenty-four townships lost a total of 195 persons while the 12 cities in the county register a gain of 207 persons. The City of Florence was the big gainer with a gain of 98 persons, from 818 in 1975 to 916 in 1976.
Last Wednesday evening a number of people from Florence went to Hillsboro to see the Wagon Train and the program presented by six Penn State students and two numbers by the sixth grade students of Hillsboro. The scrolls which were completely filled by signers, were presented to the Kansas Wagon Master by Mrs. Marion Suffield.
