The other day two farmers were driving along and met at a bridge near town. Both wanted to be very polite and each called to the other, "Come on over." Then each replied, "No, I will wait, you drive on over." They kept this up until they thought they were guying each other. They became tough and had a bloody fight. Don't be foolish about politeness.

The military invasion of Cuba has begun. It is probable there will be no fewer than four separate military expeditions, and that these will be landed at four different points. Whether Puerto Rico is one of these points or not cannot be learned. It was said at the war department that chief reliance would be placed at the outset on the United States regulars, most of whom are centered in Florida, and in such volunteer regiments as far thoroughly equipped and reasonably well seasoned for service.
