Sheriff Graham raided a joint in the rear of Gibson's tin shop last week and captured a lot of liquids of various kinds and fixtures of various sorts. The supposed jointest, one Richards, formerly of Florence, vamoosed the ranch via the back door, and has since not been seen in this neck of the woods. P.S. — He has been caught in Wichita and is now in jail. Richards has been running a "boose emporium" in Marion, it is said, for many moons. He says the people up there treat a man in his business better than they do in Florence.
One of the most profitable industries under the blooming gold standard is raising wheat. Joe A. Stahl, the grain and hay dealer, offered as high as one dollar a bushel for wheat delivered in Florence last week. Mahlon Riggs, who raised over 51 bushels to the acre last year is holding his wheat for a dollar or more — in favor of more.
