President Dole has sent a long communication to President McKinley offering to transfer the Hawaiian Islands to the United States for the purpose of its war with Spain, and to furnish the American ships of war in Pacific waters with large quantities of coal, supplies, and ammunition. This action was taken by the executive after a secret conference of the Hawaiian cabinet was called to discuss the position to be assumed by the government toward the two belligerents.
A brewing company put in the "furniture and fixtures" for Hussong when he started his joint in this city. The building is vacant now and the brewery company wants some one to rent it and start up.
