The fact that the Bulletin contains a large number of personal items may not be the town talk, but it comes very close to it. One outstanding fact pleases the Missus more than anything else, and that is the hearty co-operation she receives from the folks over town and in the community. When they phone in their items to her it saves a lot of work in chasing them down, and gets the copy to the print shop in ample time to properly handle them. And, after all, what's more interesting than short stories about the folks we know?
Twenty-nine oil and gas tank cars and their contents went up in flames Sunday afternoon when the coupling broke between two cars on a heavy train. Two of the cars telescoped, causing the flames to start. The accident occurred along the Baker farm and burned for many hours. A switch engine was rushed to the scene with a crew which succeeded in saving many of the cars on the rear of the train. Quite a number of rods of track also were destroyed and rail traffic was held up for about 40 hours awaiting repairs on the line.
