The snow is not all that funny, but then nothing else seems to be funny right now either. Now that we have set a modern record for number of snowstorms in a single winter, and for a length of time the ground was covered with snow without one thawing off, maybe it's time to start bragging about it, rather than complaining. Did it occur to you that we have had more snow in Marion County this year, than in all of Colorado last year? Murphy's Law says that if anything can go wrong, it will. It does not always apply, of course. We could have had three feet of snow instead of six inches Sunday night. We could have had 10 below readings instead of just below freezing, and this could be November instead of February. At least now we can look forward to only about a month or so more of this weather, rather than a whole winter of it.

Folks all over the world can admire the spirit of the folks in Holland when, after losing over 1,000 of their citizens and with 1/6 of their land under water, they announced that they would never surrender an acre of their land to the sea. Theirs was the first flooded country to start reconstruction and with that spirit they should certainly succeed. Several communities in Kansas have started drives already to help these folks.

Florence people get along better, and have less trouble, than the people of any other town in the state. It is due from the fact that the town has no lawyers.
