Bill and Margie Williams attended the state basketball tournament Wednesday evening. Our granddaughter played with the Goddard team. They played Washburn and won. They played Wichita West Friday evening and won. Saturday, they played Lawrence for the championship. They played a good game but failed to hold it and lost in one overtime by two points. We're still proud of the team. Refs can be pretty one-sided sometimes, too. That doesn't help.

Thirty-one years ago, Samantha's mother, Gayla Williams Soyez played with the Cottonwood team and won state. It was still a compliment that Samantha got to go to state, where her mom played. Many other relatives and friends were there to support Samantha and the team.

Julia and Lane Smith were Sunday guests of Lonnie and Sharon Smith. Julia is busy making a baby quilt for a cousin.

Danny and Dean Snelling were Sunday guests of Dale and Tootsie Snelling. Tootsie said they were busy.

Doni Rogers visited Bernice Saturday and they watched the K-State/KU basketball game.

Hazel Clothier met her daughter, Teresa Hill at the Pizza Hut in Marion Friday for lunch.

Brandon Cress, Montana and Hunter of Cedar Point were Saturday dinner guests of Everett and Janet Cress.
