An elderly woman was telling her daughter about a date with a 90-year-old man. "Would you believe I had to slap his face three time?" "Do you mean," the daughter asked in disgust, "that old man got fresh with you?" "Oh, no," her mother explained. "I had to keep slapping his face to keep him awake."

Jack and Patti Mitchell and Amy ate supper in Emporia Saturday evening to celebrate Patti's birthday.

Roy and Bev Reynolds took a trip to Oklahoma last week. They came back by Alan Reynolds in Winfield, stayed overnight on Sunday, and returned home Monday. They helped Alan celebrate his birthday.

Bill and Margie Williams and Hazel Clothier ate supper in Newton Thursday evening.

Carl Williams from Wamego visited Bill and Margie Williams Sunday afternoon.

Julia Smith baked a birthday cake and took it on Sunday to a friend in El Dorado.

Hazel Clothier and her son-in-law Kevin Hill of Marion ate dinner Tuesday in Marion. Hazel met her daughter, Teresa Hill of Marion, for dinner Friday in Florence.

Doni Rogers' friends from Texas spent Tuesday through Friday with her.
