Wonsevu: Julia Smith attends Christmas dance

Julia Smith attended the high school Christmas Ball Saturday evening at Cottonwood Falls. Julia said she had a very good time. The theme for the dance was "Candy Land."

Wonsevu Christian Church had its Christmas program Sunday morning. Following the program there was be a pot luck fellowship luncheon. Guests were invited.

Pastor Clint Stopple's message Dec. 15, "With the name of Jesus we find many wonders." "Found salvation through the wonders of Christ," was taken from Isaiah 9:6-9.

We're happy to report Lee Sidener is home from the hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery.

We extend our sympathy to the family of Cecil Yoakum. He was known by many and will be missed.

Saturday dinner guests of Bill and Margie Williams were Carl Williams of Manhattan, Terry Steinbacher of Wichita, and Hazel Clothier. Carl also was a Sunday supper guest.

The Williams, Elliot Soyez, and Hazel Clothier met Jean Everett and Truman and Opal Strong at Town and Country at Florence Saturday evening for supper. While there, they visited with Santa Claus.

Denise Lang and Jessica enjoyed being Friday overnight guests of Jessica's friend, Emily Horst, in Kansas City. They had a good time shopping in Kansas City on Saturday.

Jaimie Lang was a Friday and Saturday overnight guest of Amy Mitchell.

Hazel Clothier and her daughter Teresa Hill were in Newton Tuesday. Later Tuesday afternoon Hazel visited Lois Huntley of Florence. Hazel met Kevin, Teresa, Nellie, Heath, and Cassidy Hill at the Chuck Wagon in Florence Wednesday evening to help Kevin celebrate his birthday. Teresa met Hazel at the Stone City Café for lunch Friday. Hazel attended the birthday celebration for Jack Spain Sunday afternoon at the senior center in Florence. Later Hazel and Joyce Hett called on Lois Huntley. Lois still is on the sick list. We wish her a speedy recovery. Hazel's guests Sunday evening were Kevin, Teresa, Nellie, Heath, and Cassidy Hill of Marion.
