Nellie Hill, Hazel Clothier's granddaughter, won $250 and $1,000 scholarships to attend Washington Leadership Conference. Centre FFA advisers Gary Granzow and G. Wimmer accompanied the group. Nellie's mother, Teresa (Clothier) Hill was a Chase County graduate.
Bev Reynolds met her daughter Katherine Dowell Saturday at Wichita.
Denise Lang, Jessica and Jaimie went Friday evening to Emporia.
Carl Williams of Manhattan and Brad Morgan were Saturday dinner guests of Bill and Margie Williams. Carl also was a Sunday dinner guest.
Sharon Smith said she had a good time taking FBLA students to the National Leadership Conference at Kansas City.
Teresa and Kevin Hill and Cassidy of Marion were Sunday dinner guests of Hazel Clothier.
We extend sympathy to the family of Alice Rosiere. She was a very nice lady who lived in the community many years ago. She will be missed.
Everett and Janet Cress' guest Saturday and Sunday was grandson, Hunter Cress of Cedar Point. They visited Shannon and Randy Foster and family Sunday at Newton.
Patti Mitchell and Amy went to the 4-H meeting Monday at Florence. They also attended the high school play Sunday afternoon at Cottonwood Falls. Patti said it was real good.
Marion church damaged by vandals
At 5 p.m. Nov. 11, unknown suspect(s) broke a clay flower pot and damaged two holiday wreaths at a church in the 400 block of North Cedar Street, Marion. Damages were estimated at $60, reported Marion Police Officer Howard Kahler.
