Wonsevu: Granddaughter places third in competition

Hazel Clothier's granddaughter, Nellie Hill placed third during the 78th National FFA Convention Oct. 26-29 in Louisville, Ky. Nellie is a member of the Centre FFA chapter. She competed in the National Creed speaking career development event with 46 other speakers. She qualified to compete by winning the state competition in May. Nellie was required to present the FFA creed and answer three questions related to the creed and agriculture.
Nellie is the daughter of Kevin and Teresa Hill of rural Marion.
We extend get well wishes to Harvey Wells, wishing him a speedy recovery.
We extend sympathy to the family of Virginia Learned. We know she will be missed by the many that knew her.
Denise Lang, Jessica and Jaimie enjoyed the day Saturday in Wichita.
John Lang, Johnny, and Kyle Grokett of Cottonwood Falls went to the youth hunt Saturday at Marion.
Bill and Margie Williams attended the "Singspiration" Saturday evening at Cedar Point Community Church.
Dinner guest Sunday of Bill and Margie was grandson Carl Williams of Manhattan. Hazel Clothier was an afternoon visitor.
Sharon Smith and Julia did a 4-H community service Friday after school at Camp Wood. Julia appreciates the company she has had this week.
Hazel Clothier's visitor Wednesday afternoon was Margie Williams.
Hazel met her daughter, Teresa Hill of Marion, Friday for dinner at Florence.
