Wonsevu: Church service canceled due to weather

Church at Wonsevu was called off Feb. 3, due to the ice and snow. Also, Pastor Clint and Lisa Stopple's two children were sick. Church Day and Ladies Aid also were called off Jan. 30 and 31.
We extend get-well wishes to Marie Hoffner, who is in Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
We extend sympathy to the families of Margaret (Lalouette) Jones and Paul Loewen. They will be missed by the many who knew them.
Hazel Clothier was a Jan. 29 dinner guest of Bill and Margie Williams. The Williams' Feb. 1 and 2 dinner guest was their grandson, Carl Williams of Manhattan. Hazel and the Williams had supper together Feb. 2 at the Town and Country Café in Florence.
Bill and I are proud of our granddaughter, Samantha Soyez. They won the championship last weekend in Tulsa, Okla. Now she will be playing on the all star team in Wichita. We wish her and the team good luck.
Justin Smith and some of his friends are at Emporia State University watching the Super Bowl game.
We extend wishes to Lonnie Smith's father, Don Smith, on his 80th birthday.
Hazel Clothier spent Feb. 3 with her daughter and family, Teresa and Kevin Hill, Nellie, Heath, and Cassidy of marion.
John and Deniese Lang, Johnny and Jaimie attended Johnny's basketball game at North Lyons County Saturday. Chase County lost in a close game. They attended Johnny's basketball game at Cottonwood Sunday afternoon. The fourth graders played the fifth graders and the fourth graders won. Jaimie was a Friday overnight guest of Vanessa Yoakum at Cottonwood.
Everett and Janet Cress visited their son and family, Brandon and Carri Cress, Montana, Hunter, and Walker in Burns Sunday. Additional guests were Shealah and Roger Gulick of Burns.
