Wonsevu: Church members attend rodeo services at Strong City

Members of the Wonsevu Christian Church attended the rodeo church services Sunday morning at Strong City.

We extend congratulations to Mason and Betty Fetrow on their 60th wedding anniversary and to Orval and Shirley Oldham on their 50th anniversary. Here's wishing them many more.

Sunday dinner guests of Roy and Bev Reynolds were Bev's aunt and uncle, Bonnie and Jack Carinder of El Dorado and Orval Goodwin of Cedar Point.

Hazel Clothier had lunch Monday with Jack and Hope Spain at the Town and Country Café in Florence. Hazel had lunch at the Chuck Wagon Friday with her daughter Teresa Hill, Nellie, Heath, and Cassidy and Mrs. Raglyn and boys. Hazel visited Twylah Nightengale Saturday and later joined Joyce Hett at the Chuck Wagon for lunch. The Hill children were Hazel's overnight guests on Saturday. They met Kevin and Teresa Hill at the Chuck Wagon for lunch on Sunday and the children returned to their home in Marion with their parents.

County Line 4-H had fun preparing their float and participating in the rodeo parade on Saturday.

Johnny and Jaimie Lang and Amy Mitchel participated in the rodeo parade. Amy was Jaimie's Wednesday overnight guest and Trenton Heathman of Cottonwood Falls was Johnny's. The baseball team Johnny plays on had two games this past week and won both.

Bill and Margie Williams attended the basketball tournament in El Dorado Friday evening. Granddaughter Samantha Soyez played in the tournament. Her team won from a South Dakota team by a large margin. Gary Williams, Terry Stienbacher and Neva Hicks of Oklahoma joined us there. Later, Will and Gayla Soyez, Elliot, and Samantha met us for supper at the Golden Corral. Grandson Carl Williams of Manhattan was our Saturday and Sunday dinner guest.

Tuesday morning callers at our home were Bill's cousin and his wife, Charles and Nanette from Clarksville, Tenn. Bill hadn't seen his cousin since 1950 and I hadn't seen him since we were kids. We really enjoyed our visit. They were going on to Lincoln, Neb., Seattle, Wash., Canada, and other states before returning to Tennessee.

We extend get well wishes to Twylah Nightengale and Sheldon Harshman. Twylah returned home from the hospital Saturday evening. Sheldon had to return to the hospital in Omaha, Neb. We wish both a speedy recovery.

Memorial Day guests of Roy and Bev Reynolds were Opal and Mark Frederick of Hutchinson, Bonnie and Jack Carrinder of El Dorado, Alan and Kelley Reynolds of Winfield, Kathy Dowell of Leon and Orval Goodwin of Cedar Point. During the afternoon, their son Alan entertained them by playing his guitar and singing.

Memorial Day dinner guests of Hazel Clothier were Teresa and Kevin Hill, Nellie, Heath, and Cassidy of Marion. Hazel met Joyce Hett in Marion Tuesday and had lunch together at the Stone City Café. Hazel attended a cookout Tuesday evening at Mary and Pat Sable's. Hazel and Joyce Hett had lunch together Saturday at the Chuck Wagon in Florence. Hazel's Sunday afternoon visitors were her son and grandson Eugene and Ben Clothier of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Monday afternoon visitors of Margie Williams were Denise Lang, Johnny and Jaimie and Patti Michel and Amy. Tuesday visitors were our grandchildren, Elliot and Samantha Soyez. Gary Williams and Carl Williams of Manhattan and Terry Steinbacher were Saturday dinner guests. Bill and Margie Williams were Sunday dinner guests of Gary Williams and Terry Steinbacher. Carl Williams of Manhattan also was present.

County Line 4-H had a nice memorial ceremony at the Wonsevu cemetery.

Johnny Lang's baseball team he plays on won both of their games last week. Johnny and Jaimie Lang had fun Thursday at the water park in Emporia. This was for the AAA Middle School students. Denise Lang was one of the parents to go along. She had fun also.
