Women's fair has a name
"How Does Your Garden Grow?" is the name the Peabody Main Street women's fair committee came up with at their recent "lock in" meeting.
While anxieties were a little high at first, this very creative group of women was certain they would meet their goal. (Of course, a few of the women were hoping not to have to go home for a few days!). But, with that integral part of the fair out of the way, they're ready to move on.
The speakers/presenters committee will have the very difficult task of whittling their long list of possibilities to just a few. The food committee will be working on their luncheon menu. Marketing will be working on artwork for posters and tickets. The donations/sponsors committee will be working on funding and support. These women are excited about this fair.
People who have been a part of a large project know how much work goes into it, but they also know how fulfilling it is when it all comes together. While the committees all have chairmen, they are always looking for others who enjoy being a part of projects like these that help our community. If these women haven't approached you yet, they probably will!
They've adopted the motto, "if everybody helps a little, then nobody has to do it all!" It must be a women thing, you know, like instead of cleaning the house all by herself, Mom has everybody do a little bit, right?
If you are interested in helping in any way: baking, distributing fliers, set up, clean up, presenting, soliciting donations, decorating, making phone calls, helping with goody bags, selling tickets, or anything they haven't thought of yet, then call Peabody Main Street Director Joanna Brazil at 983-2174 or Peggy Radisewitz-Weir at 983-2353.
