Women ready for Women's Fair

Women from as far away as Topeka will be attending, on Saturday, the first "How Does YOUR Garden Grow?" fair entitled "Daffodils, Doilies, and Delicacies."

After working for months on this event, committee members for the Peabody Main Street Women's Fair are now busy getting their last minute items together for this highly anticipated event.

Speaker Marilyn Holt of the Kansas Humanities Council will talk about "Linoleum, Better Babies, and the Modern Farm Woman." Kay Neff, master gardener, with the Harvey County Extension office, is anxious to share with everyone about "Herbology." We are certain our own Shirley Davis will give information on "Reflexology and Aromatherapy" for which we will always be thankful. And, Jack Rabbit Hollow's Connie LaRue is going to make sure we leave with a beautiful ribbon daffodil.

The historical society women are excited about sharing their delicious dishes with all the fair attendees. Just the titles of the dishes alone — "Delicate Spring Greens with Poppy Seed Dressing," "Doyle Valley Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup," "Delectable Old World Schaum Torte," to name a few, should dazzle your taste buds!

Some space still is available with a $12 registration. The registration includes a fabulous lunch, great goody bags (filled with neat stuff), a ribbon flower craft, and much more.

To register, call Joanna Brazil at the Peabody City Office, 983-2174. Reservations may be made in the evening by calling Peggy Radisewitz-Weir at 983-2353.

The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Peabody Senior Citizens Center. The committee hopes to see you there!
