Women invited to Saturday retreat

Women are encouraged to wear their 'favorite hat'

Women who enjoy great food, learning, and laughter are invited to visit Peabody and attend the fifth session of "How Does Your Garden Grow?" part of the women's retreat series, "Hyacinths, Hats and Honey."

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Peabody Senior Center, 106 Walnut.

The retreat includes several fun and interesting presentations on honey production in Marion County, trends in accessories, starting a "Red Hat Society," entertaining local stories of Peabody's past, and an inspiring presentation about "following your dreams" by the "California Sisters" of Ramona.

Women are encouraged to wear their favorite hat to the session. Prizes will be given away for the most humorous, elegant, colorful, creative, and unusual hats. Door prizes also will be awarded.

The cost for the event is $12. A luncheon will be provided and free day-care is available. One free, $5 Peabody Bucks gift certificate will be given to every women attending the fair, compliments of Peabody Main Street Association. Those attending are invited to visit Peabody businesses while in town.

The "How Does YOUR Garden Grow?" series is sponsored by Peabody Main Street Association, a non-profit organization. Proceeds of the event benefit downtown promotion projects.
