If you haven't driven around the city of Peabody at night, you should — but don't forget your sunglasses. The community is shining bright with holiday lights and holiday cheer. Many houses are decorated this year and neighborhoods are glowing.

The Peabody Economic Development Committee and Peabody Main Street Association organized a holiday house decorating contest again this year.

The committee asked residents to cast their votes for favorites in three categories — traditional, contemporary, and over-all favorite. Ballots were available at Peabody State Bank, city hall, and Peabody Lanes. The deadline to vote was Monday.

The ballots have been counted and the winners of $50 in Peabody Bucks are: traditional — Janet King and Mike King, 210 Maple; contemporary — Danny Deeds and Tomas Ortiz, 204 Sycamore; and overall favorite — Bob Knapp, 305 Sycamore.

The contest was sponsored by Legacy Park.
