Winless season ends for Lady Warriors

A long season for the Peabody-Burns High School Lady Warriors came to a close Feb. 25 at St. Mary's.

The team lost 65-11 in first-round action of 2A sub-state competition.

Both teams struggled in the first quarter of the contest, and the Lady Warriors were down 8-3 at the buzzer.

Bayleigh Clark had a basket and Danielle Savage added a free throw.

A disastrous second quarter for PBHS gave the Bears a huge edge at the half.

The Lady Warriors had no points in the period but St. Mary's offense scored 18 and led 26-3 at the half.

St. Mary's continued to stack up the points in the second half and defeated PBHS by 54.

Eight points of offense came from four Lady Warriors.

Rebecca Morris, Felecia Pohlman, Clark and Savage each had a basket in the last half of the contest.
