Williams to celebrate anniversary

Billy Joe and Margie (Thompson) Williams will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday with an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Florentine Senior Center.

The event will be hosted by Gary Williams of Cedar Point and his fiancée Terry Steinbacher of Wichita, Gayla and Will Soyez of Cedar Point, and the couple's grandchildren Carl Williams of Manhattan and Samantha and Elliot Soyez of Cedar Point.

The couple met at Harrell High School, Harrell, Ark., and were married after Billy Joe returned from the Korean War.

Billy Joe retired from Fina/Costal Refining after 25 years and has actively been farming and ranching all the time. He is a member of the American Legion. Margie was a machinist at Bag Pac in Cullindale, Ark., and also worked for Rotz at Florence. She has been a homemaker and active member of the Wonsevu Christian Church and Ladies Aid Society.
