Wilbur Roth
Wilbur Kenneth Roth, 80, retired farmer and stockman, died July 14, 2002 at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater.
Born Sept. 9, 1921, in Newton, he was the son of Willie and Della Rutschman Roth.
He married Dorothy Jean Buerki May 15, 1942, in Wichita. She survives.
He attended Claypool Country School and Whitewater High School, graduating with the class of 1939. He attended Wichita Business College for two years. He lived in Whitewater all his life as a farmer and stockman except for 10 years in Wichita, where he worked as a bookkeeper for Cudahy Packing.
Survivors include his wife; son, Kenneth, of Van Nuys, Calif.; daughters, Linda Claassen of Waxhaw, N.C., and Susan Ritts of Central City, Neb.; brothers, Dean of Woodstock, N.H., Lynn of Wamego, and Alan of Overland Park; sister, Lois Clinesmith of Whitewater; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Swiss Church, Whitewater. Pastors Arnold Ensz and Dale Janzen will officiate. Interment will be in Swiss Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bob Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Memorials to the Swiss Church Building Fund or Wyciffe Ministries are suggested.
