Website caters to rural people looking for romance
An online dating service established one year ago was created specifically for "down-to-earth people who respect and cherish the rural lifestyle," according to its creator, Jerry Miller.
Miller, of Cleveland, Ohio, established the site, www.FarmersOnly.com in May 2005. He is a public relations executive who often deals with farm and ranch people.
He said he developed the website because he realized there weren't many online dating services that cater to people who appreciate a rural lifestyle.
He noted that those living in a rural area and working long hours find it difficult to meet someone who understands the small town, country lifestyle.
Visitors to the site can sign up free for two weeks and pay a modest fee after that if they choose to continue.
"You don't have to be a farmer to join," Miller said, "but you do have to have the good old-fashioned traditional values of America's heartland."
