Web sites are popular

The Internet is a mighty force in communications, and sites in Marion County are among the popular ones.

According to the Internet audience measurement firm Alexa, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, the Hillsboro Star-Journal's web site (starj.com) is the most visited news and information site in Marion County

The Marion County Record's web site (marionrecord.com) is the second most popular originated from the county; the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin's site (peabodykansas.com) is the third most popular; marionks.com is fourth. Florenceweb.net and hillsborofreepress.com had insufficient traffic to count in Alexa's ranking.

Among other sites, the Kansas City Star site had the highest audience; followed by Newslink.org (owned and operated by Eric Meyer, a native of Marion); the Wichita Eagle site; Lawrence Journal World; and the Tabor College site (tabor.edu).
