Staff writer
The Peabody-Burns Warriors suffered a first round loss at sub-state, bringing their season to a close.
The team traveled to Lyndon and were defeated, 64 to 49 by the Lyndon Tigers. They finish their season 7-14 overall.
The Warriors opened basket-for-basket with the Tigers. The fast pace of the quarter attributed to plenty of loose balls and turnovers.
Brennan Commerford led the quarter in scoring with six. The squad was up by two at the end of the period, 14-12.
The Tigers pulled ahead early in the second quarter and stayed just out of reach of the PBHS team. The Warriors managed only eight points in the period and were down at the half by the score of 29 to 22.
The fast first half of the game was concluded in less than 30 minutes.
Third quarter scoring was a little better, but the fast hands and feet of the Tigers held the Warriors. A rough quarter ended with the PBHS squad down by eight, 43-35.
The Warriors couldn't close the gap in the fourth and were defeated, 64-49.
