Warriors lose first game of season

Peabody-Burns High School boys' basketball team was defeated by Inman Friday, 62-41.
The team is in the middle of the Mid-Kansas Shootout at Pretty Prairie and PBHS.
Nathan Bishop opened the Inman game with an inside basket.
Inman then took a 12-3 lead, before the Warriors fought back to cut the lead to 15-11 at the end of the first quarter.
Duane Unruh had three baskets and Adam Benson added a free throw and a basket.
PBHS struggled to break the press of the Teutons, but found a rhythm late in the second quarter, trailing by just five at the break.
Aaron Topham nailed a three and another basket, while Unruh added a three, and Andrew Loucks and Benson each scored two points.
Point production slowed in the third for the Warriors with just nine points.
Unruh scored five, while Bishop and Benson each had two.
PBHS trailed 45-32 heading into the final quarter.
The Warriors cut the lead to eight with less than five minutes to play in the contest, but Inman controlled the tempo late and held on to the victory.
Unruh paced the 0-1 Warriors with six fourth-quarter points.
Trevor Hamm had two points.
