Warriors defeat Inman Teutons

Peabody-Burns Warriors recorded another win Friday, defeating Inman 14-0. In a good defensive contest, the Warriors shut out the Tuetons at home. The PBHS team travels next to Remington.

The Warriors scored early in the first quarter with a drive that started on the Warrior 49-yard line. Chris Hamm and Nolan Hurst divided duties carrying the ball. Hurst punched the ball in for the first touchdown from the four-yard line with 7:24 on the clock. The kick was no good, but the Warriors had the lead 6-0.

Inman made some progress throughout the half, but the tough defense of the Warriors held them scoreless going into half-time. An interception by Nick Conquest gave the Warriors a late chance at a score, but the Warriors couldn't convert the turnover into points. The score remained 6-0 at the half.

Penalties plagued the Warriors throughout the game.

The second half was great on the defensive side for the Warriors. The PBHS squad held the Tuetons scoreless throughout the remainder of the game.

The Warriors tacked on one more score very late in the fourth quarter. With just 29 seconds left in the contest, Hurst scored again from the three-yard line. He also tacked on an extra two to bring the final score to 14-0.

Chris Hamm had 18 carries for 120 yards. Nolan Hurst had 19 carries for 77 yards, and Mario Nava had six carries for 26 yards.

Nick Conquest caught one pass for 23 yards, and also had three punts for 121 yards.

Sacks were recorded by Philip Unruh, Nolan Hurst, Brandon Crabtree, Adam Jones, and Adam Carroll.

Fumble recoveries were made by Adam Jones, Justin Mayfield, Matt Kangas, and Nick Conquest.

Tackles were recorded by Justin Mayfield, 10; Adam Jones and Nick Conquest each with seven; Brandon Crabtree, five; Philip Unruh and Nolan Hurst, each with four; Adam Carroll, Kurt Phillips, Matt Kangas, and Michael Cullinane, all with three each; Chris Hamm, two; and Mario Nava, one.
