Warriors add two to win column
Boys defeat Remington in triple overtime

Two road games equaled two more victories this past week for the Peabody-Burns High School boys' basketball team.
The squad took a triple overtime win at Remington, 84-79, and a 37-34 victory at Hartford.
The Warriors were scheduled to be at Hutch Trinity Tuesday and at home Friday for a match-up with Sedgwick.
Remington took the early lead and led the Warriors 15-10 at the end of the first. Christian Bengtsson and Duane Unruh had four each and Isaac Good put in two free throws.
PBHS and the Broncos had a see-saw battle in the second. The Warriors claimed the lead early, but the Broncos took the two-point edge at the half with a trey at the buzzer, 31-29. Bengtsson led with eight. Good had five. Carroll put in four and Unruh had two.
Both offenses played even early in the third. The Warriors managed to jump out to an eight-point lead, but the Broncos came back late to cut the PBHS lead to three, 46-43. Nathan Hittle and Good each put in six. Derrick Simmonds shot a trey and Carroll had a basket.
The lead went back and fourth in the final period of regulation. PBHS led by five with less than two minutes to play. Remington came back to tie the contest with two seconds on the clock. The Bronco trey tied the contest at 64, and put the game into overtime. Simmonds had six, including four free throws. Bengtsson and Unruh each put in four. Hittle and Carroll each had two.
During the first overtime, point production slowed. Remington scored first with a two. Good put in a two to even the score at 66. The Broncos put in two free throws and Simmonds sank two free throws tying the score at 68.
Good started the scoring for PBHS in the second overtime with a free throw. Remington scored two and Good added another free throw to even the score at 70. The Broncos added two free throws and Bengtsson answered with a two. Good put in a two at the one-minute mark, but a Bronco steal led to a Remington score and another overtime with a tie at 74.
Offense stayed even in the third overtime until the Warriors were able to pull away with just 30 seconds left. Bengtsson had four. Simmonds also had four, including two free throws. Good put in two. PBHS took the victory, 84-79.

Hartford
PBHS offense overpowered the Hartford Jaguars in the first period of play.
Six Warriors put up points to lead by 11 at the end of one, 16-5. Bengtsson and Unruh had four each. Nathan Hittle put in a trey. Derek Benson and Brandon Crabtree added two each. Jason Carroll contributed a free throw.
Hartford held the Warriors to six in the second. Unruh had four and Crabtree added two. Hartford put in nine to close the gap, 22-14.
Warrior offense was slow in the second half. Benson and Crabtree led the team with four each. Good had three. Unruh and Hittle each put in two. PBHS held off a late Jaguar surge for the victory.
