Warrior volleyball season ends at sub-state

In first round play of 2A sub-state volleyball at Minneapolis, the Lady Warriors were victorious over Bennington 25-20, 20-25, 25-23. In second round play, the PBHS squad fell to the undefeated Moundridge Wildcats 12-25, 13-25. The Lady Warriors end the season with a 10-20 record.
Bennington took the early lead in game one, 1-4. Becky Morris earned a kill and Clarissa Terronez had an ace to put the teams even at four. Jessi Hilliard and Danielle Savage went on the front row attack to build a 12-7 lead with Jessica Gillet serving Bennington pulled even at 19 but the PBHS squad held off them at 20.
Game two started with a kill from Bayleigh Clark. Morris and Gillet turned in solid kills on the front row and the PBHS lead was 7-3. A string of Lady Warrior errors let the Bennington squad tie it up at eight. Bennington played with the lead until a kill from Savage put it all even at 12. The score remained within one until Bennington pulled away at 19-all. Morris scored took the team to 20 with a back-row kill, but Bennington took the victory, 25-20.
For the match victory, the Lady Warriors were down 3-9, then Tabitha O'Neal served for seven points to put the team up 10-9. PBHS trailed again, but Clarissa Terronez served six straight, including three aces to put the team on top, 23-18. The game ended with a Morris block, 25-23.
In second round play against Moundridge, Morris and Hilliard had three kills each. Clark added five assists. O'Neal had two aces.
