Warrior runners take sixth

Peabody-Burns High School cross country team traveled Thursday to Hesston for a meet. The boys' team placed sixth overall with four runners earning medals.

Andrew Topham ran the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, 51 seconds to earn a second-place medal. Jacob Wolf took fifth place with a time of 18:49. Duane Unruh placed ninth and Robert Rossberg came in 12th.

Other boys' team finishers included Ryan Wiebe at 27th, Jesse Riggs 40th, and Ethan Riggs 55th.

Seth Methvin placed 32nd in the freshman race and Kendall Wiebe finished in 36th.

Alyssa Carter led the girls' team with a 26th-place finish at the two-mile course, and Jennifer Schmeling finished 35th.

Ashley Elliott (37th), Jacqueline Benjamin (66th), Erica Frederick (79th), and Samantha Pickens (80th) rounded out the Warrior field.
