Walter Philip

Walter B. Philip, 92, died April 10, 2003, at Peabody.

Born March 24, 1911, at Wichita, he was the son of Frank Bart and Martha Ann (Holiday) Philip.

He was a printer, woodworker, and furniture builder.

On Oct. 13, 1934, he married Thelma Reed at Marion.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a son, Ron Philip.

Survivors include a daughter, Sara Pohlman of Peabody; eight grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Peabody Christian Church with Pastor Jim Pohlman officiating.

Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial fund was established with the church.
