Voters narrow field of candidates
For position one of Peabody-Burns USD 398 board of education, Bruce Burke garnished the most votes with 103, followed by incumbent Peggy Phillips with 79, Roger Elliott with 61, and Barry Peter with 44.
Anthony Zappone received the most votes for position seven with 165, followed by incumbent Gilbert Loewen with 102, and Jeff Pohlman with 32.
Florence City Councilman Daniel Ludwig received the most votes for his seat on the first ward with 41, followed by Dorothy Cleverley with three, and Venetia Miller with two.
Candidate Gerald Cleverley, who withdrew from the race a week ago, did not receive any votes.
The top two vote-getters will advance to the general election on April 3 for a final face-off.
