Vocalist Janet Post performs in Nashville
Local entertainer Janet Post was chosen to sing the "Star Spangled Banner" Feb. 25 at the National Wild Turkey Federation convention at Nashville, Tenn.
Country singer Gary Morris was scheduled to perform the anthem, but canceled two weeks before the annual event and NWTF organizers contacted Post.
"Since the convention was in Nashville, they certainly had plenty of performers to choose from," she said. "So it really was an honor to be chosen."
More than 37,000 attended the event held at Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville.
Post and her husband Pat are longtime turkey hunting enthusiasts and both are active in the Kansas organization.
