Victor Esau

Rural Whitewater farmer/stockman Victor John Esau, 83, died March 12, 2003, at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater.

Born Sept. 26, 1919, at Whitewater, he was the son of Edward and Clara C. (Claassen) Esau.

He attended Hunter Grade School near Whitewater and Whitewater High School, graduating with the class of 1937.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Marie Esau.

Survivors include three brothers, Harold Esau of Enid, Okla., Elbert Esau of Newton, and Paul Esau of Jackson, Minn.; and a sister, Elma Esau of North Newton.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Emmaus Mennonite Church, rural Whitewater, with pastors Rodney Crowell and Bill Wiebe officiating.

Burial was in Emmaus Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Mennonite Central Committee and Back to the Bible.
