Varsity Tomahawks continue winning

The Peabody-Burns Junior High basketball teams hosted the Remington Colts on Thursday. The boy's varsity continued its winning streak with a close overtime victory. The boys junior varsity and girls' teams lost. The Tomahawkes host Little River Monday for their last game of the regular season.
The PBJH varsity boys came out running and jumped out to an 8-4 first quarter lead. Both the Colts and the Tomahawks battled back and forth during the second quarter. Remington closed the gap and the Tomahawks led by two at the half, 15-13.
The Remington squad continued to battle and took the lead by one at the end of the third, 24-23. The Colts continued scoring until midway through the fourth when the Tomahawks made a run to tie it up in regulation.
The overtime was back and forth until the Tomahawks went up by three, with 23 seconds to go. The Tomahawks held on to the win, 41-40.

The PBJH junior varsity boys came out slow and Remington took an 18-2 lead. Tomahawk reserves played better in the second. The PBJH squad made a run in the third to close the gap to 24-31. The Colts poured it on in the fourth and the Tomahawks lost, 29-44.

The Lady Tomahawks varsity squad was outmatched in a game that ended 14-44.

Without enough girls to play a full game, the Lady Tomahawk junior varsity settled for three minute quarters. The defense continues to play well, but scoring is still a problem. The Lady Tomahawks lost by one, 11-12
