Vandalism continues at Peabody Park

More criminal damage at the city park has kept Peabody police busy during the past week.

Another group of picnic tables was damaged, said Police Chief Jeff Pohlman.

Vandals also climbed the fence at the city pool. Nothing inside the fence was damaged, but the vandals left muddy prints on the pool deck.

Police suspect that the same people started a fire in the rest rooms on the west side of the pool.

The two restrooms are open for public use even when the pool is closed.

Pohlman said whoever started the fire got it extinguished before it got out of hand.

On June 27, April Brooks was arrested in Peabody for domestic battery and booked into Marion County jail. Charges are being filed, Pohlman said.
