A Peabody family diverted serious injury Jan. 3, when a semi tractor-trailer slammed into the rear of their Suburban.

Leslie D. Stanford, 26, Peabody, was driving a 1998 GMC Suburban eastbound at 1:15 p.m. on U.S.-50 and was slowing down to make a left turn on Jade Road.
