Trojans sweep Collegiate; improve to 10-2 years ago

It was the same sad story Sept. 13 at the Hillsboro High School volleyball match.
Sad for the opponent that is.
HHS continued it's dominance on the volleyball court, defeating Wichita Collegiate in two dual matches.
The Trojans downed the Spartans 25-17 and 25-11 in the first match, only to improve in the second with two 25-11 victories.
"I was pleased we beat them like we should," head coach Sandy Arnold said. "We were aggressive and we tried some new things."
Arnold was impressed with her team's serving as well.
"We were above 90 percent in both matches," she said. "We were in the high 80s before, and I know that doesn't sound bad, but the errors were at critical times."
The victories improved the Trojan's record to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-Central Activities Association.
Last year it was a different story out of the gate for HHS. The team did turn it around in the middle of the season, and eventually earned a trip to state.
This year however, Arnold would like to get there with a higher seed.
"They know me and my system," the second-year coach said. "I had seven girls return and they all learned some things we needed to work on from last year."
Hillsboro took on Hesston Tuesday night in a home dual.
