The Trojan junior varsity football team ended its season on a high note Oct. 24, shutting out the visiting Marion Warriors, 28-0.
Jacob Yoder carried the ball 16 times for a game-high 157 yards and two touchdowns to help Hillsboro (4-4) claw its way to 265 yards rushing en route to a season-high 310 yards total offense.
The Trojan defense suffocated the Warriors, holding them to a worthless 81 yards and three turnovers.
"This was a great way to finish our season," said Trojan coach Darrel Knoll. "Our backs executed and ran as well as we have all year and our line did an excellent job.
The defense also did a nice job of adjusting to and stopping Marion's offense. We were very pleased with the performance."
Yoder scored his first touchdown in the first quarter, scampering 37 yards before adding a 41-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Daniel Jost added eight more carries for 76 yards and a score while throwing for touchdown, a nine-yarder to Grant Schneider to send the Trojans into the locker-room at halftime with a commanding 20-0 lead.
Jost capped off the scoring with a three-yard run in the fourth quarter, then hit Yoder for the two-point conversion.
