Tour de Florence is Saturday

Florence Labor Day committee met April 17 . Attending were Alice Hayes, John Dauber, Mary Jane Grimmett, Scott Zogelman, Sue Klassen, Ed Robinson, and Trayce Warner.

It was reported the annual Spring Fling was a huge success. Profits from the event will be used to help with Labor Day expenditures. The button receiving the most votes during the day was entered by Barbara Chavez.

Plans were made for the first "Tour De Florence." It will be a 43-mile bike ride through the Flint Hills starting from the ball field at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. A family fun ride will begin at 12:30 p.m. T-shirts will be for sale at the event.

A kid's ranch rodeo and mutton bustin' contest is scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
